The product will enable attorneys to handle local and international cases, communicate with clients and schedule work with efficiency and convenience.

Step 01:
Ask questions to understand the company's needs

Attorney Platform

1. Can attorneys decline a client
2. How are you selecting attorneys/ law firms?
3.Do the attorneys ratings? If they do, are the ratings publicly displayed?
4. Can attorneys transition existing IP clients to the platform?
5. What calendar systems can be integrated?
6. Can the attorney portal be used to directly communicate with the client?

Security and System

1. What is the Security administration plan?
2. What happens to former clients’ data?

7. Any specific law firms and attorneys preferred?

Step 02:
Market research

applications in 2021.
50%
more likely to be
registered by the USPTO.
530,270
trademarks were filed
in 2015 in USA
2,140,000

maintained in USA at 4Q 2016
Step 03:
Comparative Analysis

According to the strategy for global market. We select 3 platforms which all have international service. TrademarkVana may share some areas of overlap with other platforms, and we hope to identify a niche with a comparative analysis.

Step 04:
Problem Statement

How to make the registered trademark agency platform capable of rapid response, convenience, professionalism, and internationalization?

Step 05:
Personas, Journeys, and Empathies Maps of our clients
Step 06:
Create user flow
Step 08:
User test

Purpose: To test the usability and practicality of the current design.
Methodology: Interview. We used zoom meeting to interview an attorney who works in Pittsburgh. We showed her the current design. She gave us some suggestions based on her experience based on attorney's work.
Result: The current interface already includes many basic functions. For example, list clicent list, case list, store case files, display client information, modify lawyer profile, etc. But according to some specific needs, she made several suggestions.

Hope to receive reminders about deadlines. Because knowing the time limit for submitting documents is an important part of a lawyer's work.

Hope to see the status of the case. For example, the status of the case is open, close or pending.

Want an automatically updated To-do-list. Give a reminder of important items that are automatically updated and tell users what to do in the next few days.

Click on the client or case to expand the more detailed small window and link the file and the specific case. For example, after a certain case, add an expanded list of related documents.
